HUMBOLDT — Terry’s Flower Shop and Home Decor and More has become a destination store for people looking for, as owner Terry Butts said, “Big city style with small town charm.”

Terry’s is on the east side of the Humboldt square at 105 and 107 S. Ninth St.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment except for this coming Saturday when Butts will open the doors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for her holiday open house.

Butts said she has spent most of her working life in retail and had worked for Dodie Copley at Dodie’s for several years prior to her purchasing the Humboldt store in March.

“We are a totally different store from Dodie’s. We have an array of merchandise but we don’t have antiques,” Butts said.

Terry’s has new and vintage furniture and accessories to fit any style whether a home is decorated in a rustic or modern decor.

Shoppers will find handbags and candy made by Kansas artisans, scented candles from the Magnolia Candle Company in Independence and the largest selection of unusual lamps in southeast Kansas. Butts also carries a variety of scarves and jewelry.

Mirrors and unusual door stops have been big sellers for the holiday season. Gift wrapping is offered on all items bought at the store.

Butts offers custom designed Christmas trees to fit any family’s personal taste.

“I have had several people come into the store and buy our decorated trees, which we delivered to their homes,” Butts said.

Butts is also kept busy with her Flower Shop which supplies flowers for weddings, funerals and everyday occasions. Silk arrangements are also available.

“I have provided the flowers for several weddings in the past couple of weeks and will be going to Hutchinson in a couple of weeks to decorate for a wedding,” Butts said.

Terry’s has three part-time employees, Judy Middendorf, Judy Daniels and LaDonna Krone.

The store’s telephone number is 620-473-3747.
